Surprising Luxury for a Surprising Price: The 2013 Nissan Altima

Re-mastered not remodeled, could be the motto for the newly introduced 2013 Nissan Altima. Taking what people love about the popular four-door sedan, Nissan expanded on these qualities for the 2013 model and added a taste of luxury not found in most similarly-priced sedans.

Formally introduced to the public on April 4, 2012, at the famous New York Auto Show the 2013 Altima is designed to give the public a taste of the sweet life without breaking the bank.

Surprisingly, the cost of the sedan will not skyrocket with the  lavish exterior details and added specs normally found on higher-priced vehicles. However, what the public will see amplified in the Altima when it goes on sale in June 2012 is gas mileage and the quality of amenities offered.

Most people will never get to experience a weightless jaunt in space, but with the newly modified interior for the 2013 Nissan Altima, the general public moves one giant step closer with the introduction of its NASA-inspired “zero gravity front seats”. The new front seats allow the body to take on a ‘neutral position’ for constant comfort while orbiting smaller things, like the neighborhood. This technology uses NASA research to provide the driver with the ultimate Altima comfort experience.

A priority with Nissan, the safety features the Altima offers are above par, per usual. The 2013 boasts Active Understeer Control, which is an automatic steering intervention system. This is the first time the system has been used on a Nissan vehicle, as it was first used in the Infininti M45 sedan.

Continuing its roll down the red carpet-safely, the new Altima also offers a combined blind-spot and lane-departure warning system that notifies the driver of activity behind the car when in reverse.

Owners can expect to be treated to heated front seats and steering wheel as well as a remote start which revs up the engine that promises a 19 percent improvement in fuel economy. The four-cylinder 2.5 S model is boldly going where no Altima has gone before by estimating 38 mpg highway, while last year’s model was estimated at 32.

Drive into a new frontier-one that offers luxurious surroundings with numbers that don’t shock-drive away with the new, 2013 Nissan Altima.
