Chicago Catches a First Glimpse of the Infniti Q50

In a live, streamed broadcast at the Detroit Auto Show, the world was introduced to the all-new Q50 on January 14, 2013. Welcomed into the Infiniti pack by a tribal-themed performance from the Cirque du Soleil, thousands waited to catch a glimpse of the new forerunner for the Infiniti brand.

“This new car is the first to completely crystallize our future design, performance and technology direction,” said Johan De Nysschen, President at Infiniti Global Limited.

Leading the way in luxury performance, the new Q50 has a dynamic, sporty appearance featuring intense headlights and a “double arch” grille. Made to hug the ground at every turn, the wider and lower exterior combined with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels will make every ride feel luxuriously smooth. The 2014 Q50 will be available with a powerful 3.7-liter V-6 engine car and a hybrid-electric, 3.5-liter engine model letting drivers personalize their fuel economy.

Based on past Infiniti concept cars, mainly the Essence and the Emerg-E , the Q50 is characterized by its new ‘double arch’ grille, dynamic character lines and ‘soulful’ headlights. New character lines added above the rear tires add a fluid sense of motion to the body, complimenting the more aggressive, solid front fascia.

Luxury and technology combine to make the interior of the Q50 not only a place you can relax, but a place you can get down to business. Along with the added leg room and space, the Q50 adds a dual-screen display in the center dash. This dual Infiniti InTouch system display will seamlessly integrate apps from any smart phone and allow Q50 owners to customize their driving experience like never before.

Just one touch can change the way you interact with the world and the way your car interacts with the road. Using the ergonomically designed technology control center, drivers can deploy the Direct Adaptive Steering System which enables users to alter the steering effort and steering gear ratio while driving-it’s an industry first.

The new Q50 is all about driver customization and it’s coming to Berman’s Infiniti of Chicago this summer.
